Privacy Policy - DateTime Picker for Google Sheets

DateTime Picker ("the add-on") is a free, open-source Google Sheets editor add-on that lets you pick a date and time, in any time zone, and insert it into the cells you select. This policy explains exactly what Google user data the add-on accesses, how it is used, stored and shared, and how you can remove it. It applies to everyone who uses the add-on, including Google Workspace users.
Summary
- The add-on runs entirely inside Google Apps Script, on Google's infrastructure.
- It has no servers of its own and makes no external network calls.
- It uses no analytics, cookies, advertising, tracking or third-party services of any kind, including any AI or machine learning service.
- The developer does not collect, receive, store, sell or share any of your data.
Google user data the add-on accesses
The add-on requests only two OAuth scopes, the minimum needed for its features.
1. https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets.currentonly
Access limited to the spreadsheet in which you open the add-on. It cannot access any other file in your Google Drive. With this scope the add-on:
- Reads the value and number format of the active cell or selected range, only to detect an existing date so the picker can open prefilled with it.
- Writes the date and time you choose into the cells you selected, as ISO 8601 text or as a formatted date value, depending on your settings.
- Saves your add-on settings in that spreadsheet's document properties (see "How data is stored").
2. https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.container.ui
Allows the add-on to show its menu, picker dialog and settings dialog inside Google Sheets. This scope does not give access to any of your data.
The add-on does not access your name, email address, contacts, Google Drive files, other spreadsheets or any other Google account data.
How data is used
Data accessed through the scopes above is used only to provide the add-on's user-facing features: prefilling the picker with an existing date and inserting the date and time you pick. It is not used for any other purpose, including advertising, profiling, analytics, credit-worthiness or lending.
How data is stored
- The add-on stores only your settings: default time zone, output format, date order, 12 or 24-hour clock, and whether to show the time zone.
- These settings are saved with Google Apps Script PropertiesService Document Properties, inside the same spreadsheet. They are not stored anywhere else.
- The dates and times you insert are ordinary cell values in your spreadsheet.
- The developer has no servers or databases and keeps no copy of any of this data.
How data is shared
Google user data is not shared, sold, rented or transferred to the developer or to any third party. The add-on makes no network requests outside Google Apps Script and Google Sheets.
Artificial intelligence and machine learning
- The add-on does not use any artificial intelligence or machine learning features.
- No Google user data is transferred to any third-party AI or machine learning tool, model or service.
- No Google user data is used to develop, train or improve generalized or non-personalized AI or machine learning models, including foundational models.
Human access
No human reads your data. The developer has no access to your spreadsheets, their contents or your settings. The only exceptions would be ones permitted by Google's Limited Use requirements: if you give explicit permission to view specific data (for example, when you send a screenshot in a support request), if it is needed for security purposes such as investigating abuse, or if it is required to comply with applicable law.
Data retention and deletion
- The developer retains no data.
- Your settings and inserted values remain in your spreadsheet until you change or delete them.
- Deleting a spreadsheet deletes the settings stored in it.
- You can stop all access at any time by uninstalling the add-on from Extensions > Add-ons > Manage add-ons, or by removing its access at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Uninstalling does not remove values already written to your cells. You can edit or delete those like any other cell content.
How data is protected
All processing happens within Google Apps Script and Google Sheets, over connections encrypted by Google. Because the add-on has no servers and sends no data elsewhere, your data never leaves Google's infrastructure.
Limited Use disclosure
DateTime Picker's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Children
The add-on is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.
Open source
The complete source code is public at https://github.com/mustkem/datetime-picker, so anyone can verify the statements in this policy.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this page with a new effective date. If the add-on ever needs additional data or scopes, this policy will be updated before that change is released.
